Temple of Divinty of Medicine of Taipa

Temple of Divinty of Medicine of Taipa

Ka Sin Tong of Taipa was built in the 20th year of Guangxu Reign (1900).

Strictly speaking, Ka Sin Tong (Auspicious and Benevolent House) is not a temple and its predecessor was non-governmental charitable Chinese organization. It is not a temple, no matter its name or from its constructive form.

There are no inscribed tablets in Ka Sing Tong. However, according to the existent ancient board we can know that it was built in the later periods of Guangxu Reign. There are no records about the origin and time when it ended its services. But basing on the couplets and ancient boards, we can draw a conclusion that the House did have some influences.

The present idol of the Emperor of Sacred Doctor in the House was once remoulded. The Emperor of Sacred Doctor is not confined to a certain god, but refers to general sacred doctors, including Hua Tuo, Yan Di, Sun Simao, Bian Que and etc. In 2002, the original name was discovered while refurbished.

Temple of Pou Tai Sim Yun in Taip

The Temple of Pou Tai Sim Un is the largest of Coloane and Taipa and is also the biggest place in Macao for the Sukhavati Sect to perform sites. It is dedicated to Sakyamuni, Liu Zu, Kun lam with thousand of hands, Buddha with three treasures and etc.

The Palace of Liu Zu is the palace with the longest history in Pou Tai Un. It was built in the 16th year of the Republic of China (in 1927) and rebuilt in recent years. There also is a Grand Palace concluded in 1991, Pu Ming Palace and the Pavilion of Protecting Buddhas, which were consecutively completed in sixties.
