Spend your evenings in Macau among several shows every night at Macau's numerous bars, hotels, casinos and nightclubs.

Macau evenings offers famous high-profile entertainers, Portuguese folk dancing, disc jockey discotheques and live dance bands, depending on the place you choose.

Nightlife bar-hopping and club scenes

The latest bar hopping and club scenes in Macau are in the Docas. This lively area is in the NAPE area, between the Cultural Centre and the Wynn Casino Hotel Resort (under construction).

The Docas waterfront area has dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs. The best bars and restaurants are located around the Avenida Sun Yat Sen, near the twenty-metre-high bronze statue of Kun Iam, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy.

Some restaurants open for lunch (11-2pm) and will open again in the evening. Many will remain open until the early morning hours.

Each establishment offers its own unique theme, and several have both indoors and sidewalk tables. Enjoy the nightlife on Fridays and Saturdays when several live bands play the rhythms of Brazil, Portugal, England, Africa and every part of Asia.

In some bars and pubs of five star hotels like the Emperor Hotel, Holiday Inn and Mandarin Oriental you can request songs from the live bands performers.

Popular Art Fair

If you want some open air, eat some ethnic food and see the Cybernetic Water Fountain Show, go to the Nam Van Lake waterfront along the Avenida da Praia Grande area and right across the Government House. (until 26 December)

Browse specially designed stall-carts which sell distinctive articles including individually created jewellery, handicrafts, ceramics, artwork and collectibles.

Watch out for talent performance carried out by art lovers.

Relax and sit down in the small restaurants and shops accompanied by a daily multi colour display of fountain fantasia top by a 80-meter high water geyser.

Nightlife along the Nam Van Lake Cybernetic Fountain

Sit down along Nam Van Lake and enjoy the Cybernetic Fountain. Features include laser beams and musical accompaniment are features of the dramatic displays. It is equipped with 86 spouts and lit by 288 coloured spotlights. The tallest water jet reaches 80 meters in height. The US$2.5 million Cyber fountain, was constructed by a Portuguese-Spanish company.

Laser Performance
Saturday to Sunday: 8:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. (30 minutes per session)
Additional performances will be held in New Year's Day, Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas Holidays etc.

Music Performance
Monday to Friday:1:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m.(1 hour per session) and 9:30 to 10:00 p.m..
Saturday to Sunday:10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m.(1 hour per session) and 9:30 to 10:00 p.m.

Nightlife singing Karaoke

Karaoke bars and clubs are very popular among locals and Asian visitors. You can usually find reasonable prices including packages for room and drinks/snacks. The atmosphere is friendly and clean. Time to test your singing skills and the patience of your friends. Certainly a different way to spend time with friends.

The Macau Docks also have several karaoke clubs. Also go to the city centre and along Rua dos Pescadores, Estrada do Repouso.

Taipa Island, near the Jockey Club, also boast some good singing venues.
