57th Macau Grand Prix
The 57th Macau Grand Prix is scheduled for 18 to 21 November.
The three headline races are the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinential Cup, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix – 44th Edition, and the FIA World Touring Car Championship – Guia Race of Macau.
The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, which is the official FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup, was first held in 1983 and won by the late, great Ayrton Senna, while F1 icon Michael Schumacher also won in this race.
The Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, too, is considered one of the most challenging road races in the world and is now entering its 43rd year on the narrow 6.2km Guia circuit.
FIA World Touring Car Championship (FIA WTCC) races for the fifth consecutive year, and once again holds its final nail-biting round in Macau. Only a few events are authorised to carry the 'FIA World Championship' title and many top drivers annually converge on Macau from all over the world to try their luck.
Additionally there are five Macau Grand Prix Support Races: The Macau GT Cup, Macau Road Sport Challenge, CTM Macau Touring Car Race, Hotel Fortuna MAC/HKG Interport Race, and Formula BMW Pacific.

Every year Macau Grand Prix attracts drivers from Macau and across the globe to compete on the Guia Circuit. This year, 252 drivers from 35 countries and nations will join the Grand Prix, 55 of them from Macau.
The Macau Grand Prix is THE motor-racing event held annually in November right on the streets of Macau. Macau Grand Prix is so far the only street circuit racing event in which both car and motorcycle races are held. Every year more than three hundred racing drivers and riders from around the world fly in for the annual event.
The Macau Grand Prix race weekend normally starts on a Thursday and ends on a Sunday on the second or third week of November. The first two days (Thursday and Friday) are generally scheduled for practicing and qualifying.
FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup
The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, which is the official FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup, was first held in 1983 and won by the late, great Ayrton Senna, while F1 icon Michael Schumacher also won in this race.
For the first time, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix is included in the 26-event Duke Road Race Rankings, the only series to recognise season-long performance on road circuits. Inclusion in the prestigious rankings is further recognition of the international status of the Grand Prix.
Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, too, is considered one of the most challenging road races in the world and is now entering its 43rd year on the narrow 6.2km Guia circuit.

Apart from the two major races held at the race weekend, the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix is also one of the highlights of the weekend since it features former or current racers of the Superbike World Championship.
Over the years, it has grown to be one of the most famous two-wheel challenges in the world. The diversity of the riders – from road racing specialists, to national superbike heroes, to the stars of endurance racing – and our extraordinary Guia street circuit, have combined to create something of a legend in motorcycle circles.

FIA World Touring Car Championship (FIA WTCC) races
FIA World Touring Car Championship (FIA WTCC) races for the fifth consecutive year, and once again holds its final nail-biting round in Macau. Only a few events are authorised to carry the 'FIA World Championship' title and many top drivers annually converge on Macau from all over the world to try their luck.
Since 2005, the double-header Guia Race, which traditionally features touring cars from world-renowned car manufacturers, has officially become the final two races of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

Macau Grand Prix Support Races
Additionally there are five Macau Grand Prix Support Races: The Macau GT Cup, Macau Road Sport Challenge, CTM Macau Touring Car Race, Hotel Fortuna MAC/HKG Interport Race, and Formula BMW Pacific.
Other races include the Formula BMW Pacific race, and for locals and Hong Kong drivers who want a slice of the action, Interport Race for novices, CTM Cup race the experienced.
Newly introduced into the 2008 race is the Road Sport Challenge for popular sport compact cars commonly associated with the tuner market, Macau GT Cup for GT3 cars.
Races that have been held in the past but have since been discontinued includes the ATCS race, Supercar Cup for road going exotic sports cars, the Formula Renault race, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia race, the scooter race for locals and in the past but on an less than frequent basis, a Jackie Chan endorsed race for celebrity drivers involving Mitsubishis, with whom Chan hold a sponsorship deal.

Guia Street Circuit
The brutal and challenging Guia Street Circuit consists of fast straights were Formula 3 cars can reach a top speed of 260 km/h (160 mph) plus tight corners and uncompromising crash barriers makes the Macau Grand Prix one of the most demanding circuits in the world.
The circuit runs for 3.8 miles around picturesque Macanese streets and is considered one of the most challenging courses on the international scene. The red, blue and yellow flags are often brought out.
The five Macau Grand Prix Support Races are:
- The Macau GT Cup,
- Macau Road Sport Challenge,
- CTM Macau Touring Car Race,
- Hotel Fortuna MAC/HKG Interport Race, and
- Formula BMW Pacific.

All races are held on Saturday and Sunday, with the final rounds of the heavyweights Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix and the Guia Race (scheduled to be the final 2 rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship since 2005) held on the last day.

Macau Grandprix Championship Drivers

The Macau Grand Prix is seen as a stepping stone for future Formula 1 drivers. This list includes names such as Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jarno Trulli.
These Formula 1 stars are winners of the Macau Grand Prix and have graduated from the narrow, twisting Guia street circuit.
