Macau Fire Services Museum
The Macau Fire Services Museum is located at the Headquarters of the Macau Fire Services; both of which are conveniently located next to the Kiang Wu Hospital, making it easy to find.
However, it's also difficult to go there because it's in an area that's not exactly a famous tourist spot.

Today, the Fire Services Museum of Macau is built with a European style edifice that dates back to the 1920s. It is a very imposing structure in the area, especially beside the hospital.

There are almost more than 700 pieces of objects and artifacts that are exhibited inside the museum. The objects on display range from the big fire trucks to the evolution of the fire extinguisher.
There are two halls that comprise the whole museum which, when combined, occupy approximately an area of 350 square meters.

The Main hall of the Fire Services Museum displays a wide variety of manual pumps that were used and very common in the past. The pumps that were in the Fire Services Museum were either Chinese or British made manual pumps.

There are also classic British fire engines and fire trucks right in the middle of the Main hall.
Also in the Main hall is a model of a typical situation when there's a fire emergency where the firemen slide down the pole.
There are also data, historic pictures and shield, flags, diplomas, medals and badges of the Services. These are in commemoration of the services that the Fire Department has rendered to the Macau community.
In addition to these displays inside the Macau Fire Services Museum, there is also a model of a fireman dressed that's all dressed up in a 1940 uniform for ceremonies.

When you go to the second hall, you will see that it is more modernized compared to the main hall.
A model of the Headquarters of the Macau Fire Services can be seen here, as well as an electronic board that indicates the sites of the current and past fire stations at different locations around the islands of Macau, Taipa, and Coloane.
Furthermore, equipments and tools necessary for responding to a fire emergency are displayed here as well, such as the helmets and boots of the firemen, classic Chinese nozzles, fire alarms from the past to the present, the plaque with the word well, hook-ladder, the Breathing and the different sizes and types of public hydrants.

Besides that, here is also a model simulating the fire of a wooden hut at the far end of this hall. All of these things add value to the Fire Services Museum and to the Fire Services of Macau.
The Macau Fire Services Museum isn't your ordinary tourist spot with loads of people. It doesn't have the fame and popularity of the Ruins of St. Paul. But it does have an important significance to the people of Macau. This is to remember those who have perished in the line of duty.

Above the small souvenir stall inside the Macau Fire Services Museum are plaques of appreciation and remembrance for those who fought bravely for their countrymen.
The Fire Services Museum of Macau is interesting because it's one of the countries in the world that pay tribute to the volunteers who risk their life just to save others.
